2012 Lexus LFA

Lightweight, powerful and balanced, the Lexus features advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction for its chassis and bodywork to deliver a light, incredibly strong and impact-resistant structure, this is the 2012 Lexus LFA. This LFA marks a watershed point for Lexus - its global debut marks the spectacular arrival of a new flagship for the F portfolio of Lexus performance models.

The result is the rear-wheel drive LFA, a dynamically styled supercar powered by a sophisticated new high-revving 4.8-liter V10 engine that generates 552 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque for adrenaline-fuelled 202 mph (325 km/h) performance.

There are many ways to rationalize the Lexus LFA. It is undeniably a wondrous halo car, but far too rare and pricey to occupy any significant number of dealer showrooms for live traffic. It is also a compelling proof of concept, demonstrating Toyota Motor Corporation's engineering competency with composite manufacturing, lightweight platforms and engine technology.

The LFA developed groundbreaking new processes to create a new LFA that was stronger, stiffer and lighter than any metal-based alternative could ever be. It is a single-purpose stimulant, formulated specifically to induce euphoria in the driver.
